Directory listing

  • Hi,

    I’m potentially putting together a site for a client that will include a directory of venues for their members. I’m trying to figure out the best way to attach a directory listing to a user account so that the user is able to update their own listings (possibly using Gravity Forms and Gravity Views), but does anyone have any other suggestions on a plugin or system that can be used?

    If it’s a one-to-one relationship (one venue per user account) then you could simply add fields to the user profile, then display those fields on the front end, maybe using author.php for the venue page. You’ll find plenty of tutorials online that provide sample code.

    There are also plugins to do it – I used this one once: https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/plugins/cimy-user-extra-fields/.

    If a user might have multiple venues, er… maybe GF. Or a custom post type, with users’ role set to author so they can only edit their own. Help anyone?
