Directory name of 'core' – change-if-possible request !

We realise this is a rare problem, but we have our WP under source control. By default most CVS updates exclude anything called ‘core’, and then also our publish process uses rsync –cvs-exclude. So we can end up with a broken plugin.
We can and do intervene to deal with both these issues, but just thought you could bear it in mind for version 4.
