Disable 5x resize?

    The plug-in generates appropriately scaled sizes for all sizes requested by WordPress (in your theme, in the admin, etc). This is one of the huge benefits in this plug-in. Letting the browser scale it down (while actually delivering the original image size) results in poor image quality for your visitors and, potentially, a significant waste of bandwidth.

    In short, no way. And I would recommend you reconsider the spirit of the original request.
