Disable AutoFill

I would like to disable the AutoFill or autocomplete function on my forms. I’ve tried adding autocomplete=off to the input fields but the result is the input field not even showing up.
AutoFill function on mobile (specifically iPhone) is not very user friendly and users are having a hard time submitting forms.
