Disable cart, only direct purchases

    Is there a way to disable the “Cart” mechanic so that users would directly purchase an item through checkout? I know there are many plugins that skips the “Add to cart” step but, in reality, the product would still be in the user’s cart and if they leave the checkout page they can come back to it and purchase the item on their cart.

    What I want is that users would buy their product just in one step, and if they leave the checkout page then the item would be removed from their cart.

    Hi there,

    The above recommended Direct Checkout plugin is one option which would skip the Cart and go straight to Checkout. The One Page Checkout extension is another option, which would add the Checkout form directly to the Single Product Page so that the customer can check out on the same page.

    However, from your description, it sounds like you want to completely avoid products ever being in the Cart at all. This would require customization, as the default Checkout functionality takes the items from the Cart to calculate taxes/shipping and process payment. Changing all that would be a fairly big change.
