disable comments on events

  • Hey Alan, great plugin and great work, thank you so much!
    Right now I am looking for a checkbox to disable comments for events (details page layout). I assume, they appear because they are enabled for regular posts, but for the events I would like to hide them. Is there a possibility? On the edit page I do not find this configuration?

    Solution I (Via Code Snippet):

    Solution II (Via Bulk Action – Edit/Quick Edit):

    1). You can quickly navigate to your events page.

    2). You can select an event from the Events dashboard and “Quick Edit” the same. Further, uncheck the “Allow Comments” option and “Update” the same.

    3). Alternatively, you can select all the events in bulk from your Events dashboard and choose “Bulk actions – Edit.” Apply the same. Then, change the comments to “Do not allow” and update the same.

    Solution III (Via Custom Event Template):

    You can create a new custom single event template and remove the comments sections for the same.

    Note: The active theme on my test site was the latest Twenty Twenty-Four (Version: 1.0) by the WordPress team.

    The above solution will successfully disable the comments for all of your events.
