Since 2.5.0 came close to good advanced SMTP plugins, would you consider adding a “killswitch” to disable email sending?

Currently the only way is to either install Disable Emails and disable PostSMTP, or what I do is to set wrong username so SMTP won’t authenticate, yet it still logs the email as it should.

Having this feature (similar to FluentSMTP) would be very helpful on sites where users need to test or mark orders as cancelled (forgotten ones that shouldn’t send email..) and for so many other cases.

    Hi @morvy ,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Regarding email disabling feature – We have already added that checkbook in of our recent release. You can access this setting from following path; Settings ? Advanced ? Delivery mode ? select Log only mode.

Still let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

    Thanks and regards,

It’s a bit hidden, but thanks a lot for this!

@haseeb0001 would it be possible to add a filter for the returned RUN_MODE constant? I’d use it to toggle the email sending with WP environment variable (I’d like to disable emails on local/development/staging environments). I know this is not something that everyone wants, that’s why a simple filter would be great.

    Hi @morvy,

I hope you are doing well.

There isn’t a filter available for this as of yet. I’ll talk to my team about it and try to include it on our roadmap.

    Thanks and regards,
