Disable for certain internal links to a specific directory

Is there any way to disable language switching for certain internal links?
I need all internal links referring to content in a certain directory (https://www.mywebsite.com/DIR/xxxxxx.php) to stay in the default language. In other words: I don’t want the ‘?lang=xx’ to be put after any of those links, because that breaks them when the user has set the language to the non-default language.
