Disable highlighting on active menu items

Hello there,

I’m using Elementor to manage my header section including the navigation menu.
I have a one-page site where the menu items are anchors that link to a section on the one page.
Because wordpress sees the homepage and the anchors as all the same page url, all menu items are highlighted as active.
To solve this I would like to disable highlighting the active menu links while keeping the anchors.
What would be the best way to do this?
