• Hi,
people can register to my website as subscribers. But as soon as they do they receive wierd email from WordPress titled: Login details
here is the text of email:
‘Username: ———

To set your password, visit the following address:
<https://gangedup.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=cv9z2ivF2nnNTsIYivJl&login=username>

https://gangedup.com/wp-login.php

For some reason it says set up password, but users do that already during registration. Also as you can see link is not just for website but also for wp-admin login.
I have tried to disable this notification everywhere I could, I have also installed Manage email notification plugin and disabled it there. But still people receive such email.
Please help

How did you implement the custom registration? I would imagine it’s related to that.

Using Youzer and Ultimate Member plugins. But these plugins have been installed month ago while emails started to appear just a week ago.
Also emails that I have set up thru these plugins look completely different and are sent from website while the ones I have problems with are sent from WordPress.
Is there maybe some kind of ‘log’ where you can see what website did and how, so you can track problem?

Not really, I don’t think this is a bug, I think it’s a design feature of WordPress that is decided not to be used by the implementation of the custom membership plugins.

First step is to understand how exactly those plugins work. Then with the knowledge of the functionality and system, the practitioners involved in understanding those plugins can give their best advice on which steps you can take.

That first step isn’t something we can invest time in, instead you need to contact the authors of those plugins.

I actually tried disabling all plugins, but it is not them. Because as I said plugins where installed a long time ago while emails appeared recently.
This is basic wordpress sending emails that I cannot disable.
I tried installing email log: but it does not show full specifics what is sending those emails.
Maybe there is possibility to disable them thru coding?

There’s no point re-inventing the wheel of what your plugins already do. Why not just reach out to the developers? As you said, it once worked but now it doesn’t work.

Jesus, why can’t people just give the solutions instead of arguing. Anyway, @evgenis I had been struggling with the same problem and after much hassle I found this neat little plugin. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/manage-notification-emails/

Fixed the problem right up for me. Just disable the option “New user notification to user” and you’ll good.

Oh and btw incase if you wanna know where the code is, you might wanna open up this file: wp-includes/pluggable.php Line number: 1989

@mjunes Thank you for providing a solution! Maybe the support people should learn one or two things about actually providing “support”.
