I would like to disable your mce widget button for user roles other than administrator. I need to hide this button on the Visual Editor toolbar. Please advise with existing setting or potentially a function to add. Kind regards.

The wppa shortcode generator is available to user roles that have the capability to edit posts and/or pages.

Can you explain me why these user roles should not be able to add wppa shortcodes in a convenient way? They can add them ‘manually’ anyway; they just need to read

Hello. I’m looking for the same purpose; hiding mce button.
This is to prevent easy access for users. Although they can add short code manually, most do not know about it or have worked with it. It would have been nice with a description how the button can be hidden. Otherwise, thanks for a useful and especially good plugin.

In the next version (6.6.11) there will be a switch (checkbox) in Table IX-B19 where you can disable the shortcode generator.

It is now available in the current beta version (6.6.11.001)
    See: https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/development-version/ for instructions.
This version is believed to be as stable as the current realease version 6.6.10.

Having the option to disable the shortcode generator is greatly appreciated. In our case, we are just beginning to introduce select users to their editing capabilities. We want to start with the bare minimum and later on introduce more advanced features such as your shortcode generator.

That makes sense. Well it is available now, just follow the instructions on the doc page

It is now available in the current beta version (6.6.11.003)
Administrators and wppa superusers (see Table VII-D11) will now always have the icon available regardless of the setting.
