Disable new topics on forum with active subforums

Hi there,

I went through the documentation but can’t find my answer.

I have created a forum with multiple subforums. I want to keep the sub-forums active (open to new topics) but I want to disable any new topics for the main forum. Is there a way to do this?

Hi @insearchofasolution,
You just need to edit that parent forum and set “Read Only” forum access for Registered Usergroup. Thus the regular users will not be able to post a new topic or reply in the parent forum. But child forums have “Standard” access by default for Registered Usergroup. It allows to post topics and replies.
