Is there a way to disable prepending packge name with dot?

Mac uses dot for system configuration files and removes the dot from file resulting in archive not found error when uploading the package on server and you have to rename the file manually to fix the problem.

Also it somehow makes our server to throw error 500 (as it thinks it’s also some sort of system configuration file) and it’s really annoying to fix these issues before using the installer.

  • Hey @donnyks

Can you give an example of what the package name looks like on your side? The name should be written as [name]_[hash]_archive.zip or .dup

    Thanks

    Hi @corylamleorg

It looks like this in plugin packages:
    .custom_package_name

    or like this when downloaded:
    .[name]_[hash]_archive.zip

But downloading the package removes the dot but I think that’s system specific (Mac).

It’s adding the dot for a few months now after some Duplicator update.

I’m using Czech cs_CZ lang version of WordPress.

    Hey @donnyks

Hmm, that is really odd I have not seen that behavior before… If you want to submit a support ticket for this issue we can have a closer look at your setup. Please provide a link to this thread when submitting the ticket.

    Thanks~
