Disable REST API

Hello, for security reasons I am considering disabling all REST API access from unauthenticated users.
If I do so, will woocommerce frontend malfunction?
I mean, checkout, payment etc, do these functions need REST API enabled to work?Can I safely disable it (for unauthenticated users), and everything on the website will work properly?

Hi @txtcoke,
By default, the WooCommere REST API requires authentication to access data like Products, Orders, Customers etc. You’ll notice if you try and access an API endpoint without authentication you receive a 401 error like this example below.

With this in mind, there is really no reason to try and disable, deactivate the WooCommerce REST API. Doing so would also most likely cause some issues within features of WooCommerce like the Analytics section etc.
