    Hello,

Since WC 8.5, a new set of cookies are generated by WC for the ‘order attribute’ tracking among third party social services. In order to be compliant with GPDR, I give the opportunity to users to disable them. So, legally speaking, that is fine. But it polutes my cookies policies statement with things I do not use (and can freek people out, who would be ‘allergic’ to social tracking).

As I do NOT use (or plan to use in any ways) the respective service, I would like them to be disabled UNLESS I activate the service.

How can I do that without rolling back to 8.4.x ? I understand the purpose of this new service, but as I do not plan to use it, I do not want these cooking to be placed on my website,

    Thanks in advance,

    BR,

    Jay

    Hi @jay2022,

You can disable it by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Features > Order Attribution. More info: https://woo.com/document/order-attribution-tracking/

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Hi Shameem (woo-hc)

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I did it already (following another thread..) but my cookies blocker (COMPLIANZ) still mentions the presence of these cookies and indicate them under cookies policies. I made sure I cleared all cookies and tested it under ‘incognito mode’, before running the cookies scanner.

I really wonder why it is still identified.

    Thanks,

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

Thank you for your patience and for providing more details about your issue. It seems that the plugin is detecting some cookies from WooCommerce that are necessary for the functionality of your online store. WooCommerce sets some cookies to handle the cart, checkout, and account pages, as well as to remember the user’s preferences and choices. You can find more information about these cookies here.

To manage these cookies in a GDPR-compliant way, you need to make sure that you have a valid cookie consent notice and policy on your website, and that you allow your visitors to opt-in or opt-out of different categories of cookies, such as functional, statistics, and marketing. You can use a plugin to scan your website for cookies, generate a cookie policy, and configure a cookie notice with different consent options.

If you have already done this, but the plugin is still showing the WooCommerce cookies under the cookie policies, it could be because the plugin has not detected the cookies during the scan. This can happen if you have not added any products to your cart or visited the checkout or account pages before running the scan. To fix this, you need to clear the plugin’s cache and rescan your website after performing some actions on your store, such as adding a product to the cart, opening the cart, or logging in to your account. This will ensure that the plugin picks up the WooCommerce cookies and categorizes them correctly.

Please try these steps and let us know if they resolve the issue. If not, please send us a screenshot of your cookie notice settings and your cookie policy page, so we can check them for any errors or inconsistencies. I also recommend you to contact the Complianz support team directly.

I hope this helps and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
