@bhkh You can stop displaying the default search results from the ‘Interface -> General’ settings of the SearchIQ dashboard. Please check the screenshot for your reference. https://prnt.sc/trsd9c

Thanks! I looked on the WordPress interface and couldn’t find it. I can’t actually find any way to get to my searchIQ dashboard from the WordPress interface. Shouldn’t there be a “For more settings, go to your SearchIQ dashboard.”

So, I unchecked that box and I am getting “No records found” where the results would have been previously. This still seems like a strange UX. Why should someone get a negative message when they haven’t done anything yet?

    Thanks for the quick response.

@bhkh Thank you for the suggestion to add a link on the WordPress interface to go to the SearchIQ dashboard. We have added to our pipeline.
For your search page query, the users will only land on the search page after performing a search on your site so users will not get the message. But we are checking if we can handle the message using our custom CSS option and will update you soon.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Actually, I have various links on the site that point people to my search page. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but I thought I could send people to mysite.org/search/, the page that has the shortcode [siq_ajax_search]. I have a search link in the menu and at various points I remind people they can use the search, and of course I want that reminder to be clickable. Should I be sending them somewhere else?

I do also use the shortcode to embed the search box in the footer, etc. [siq_searchbox] That does send them to my /search/ page and all works perfectly.

Thanks for the great product and being so responsive.

@bhkh If you’ve added links on your site to direct users to the search page, then the scenario is different. Usually, the sites have a search icon or search box to input the search term, and then the user is directed to the search page to display the results based on the user’s query.
To inform, we can remove the ‘No records found’ message on the search page but then the message will not be displayed even if the search term is incorrect. We are checking it further.

@bhkh We have checked and we can show or remove the message for both the cases. If we chose to hide the message, then it will even not show for the case where there will be no results to display.
Please let us know if you need to input the CSS and hide the message.

    Ah, I understand.

No, I have actually already styled that css,so I know what it is.

I have another question but I will open a new thread.

    Thanks!!
