Disable Stories Links

Hi there, I understand that there is a Custom Stories Link function, but it opens a new tab which annoys me. Is there a way to set it to open the new page in the same tab instead??

Though what I really want is to disable the function. I am happy to display the image and info I want on the timeline without having separated Stories pages. Is there a function to disable it? Cheers!
