    What happens if I disable stripe or deactivate your plugin and I have people that were paying for a subscription via my website? Does it still charge them for their subscription as usual with their saved payment method?

    No, if a plugin is deactivated then the code for the plugin is not loaded by WordPress and thus the recurring payments cannot be processed.

    If you disable the payment gateway but leave the plugin active then your subscriptions should process normally.
