• Hi there, we are having trouble giving our users access to settings of a plugin that seems to only be accessible through an admin page.

The plugin is User Managed Locations add-on of Store Locator Plus. Here is the thread that explains what’s going on, for context: https://www.storelocatorplus.com/forums/topic/how-to-give-users-access-to-user-managed-locations-when-using-membership-plugin/

We need the users to be able to access this path

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=slp_manage_locations

I tried giving users the link to the page to edit their location in this plugin, but it just refreshes their profile page when they are logged in and try to access that page.

If I deactivate TML, the problem goes away, and they get WP Dashboard access to edit their location.

So my question is similar to the one brought up in this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/add-exception-for-specific-admin-pages-or-brand-them

I realize it’s not your job to theme or style other people’s plugins.

However, like this other person, I’m wondering if there is a way to exclude the admin restrictions on specific URLs?

I’m thinking that may be a solution to our problem, so that we can give our users access to make the edits they need to make on that one plugin settings page.

Then we don’t need to worry about branding a page, etc. etc.

I tried googling this subject but couldn’t find anything on it. I also tried reading your usage instructions but didn’t see anything specific to this. Sorry if I’m just not seeing it.

We are using Theme My Login Version 6.4.4

    Thanks

I take it you also enabled the Themed Profiles module setting to block the admin area for specific roles? If so, your only viable option is to uncheck it.

We really need that set up though for certain parts of the site where we are using membership options though.

    So it’s an all-or-nothing deal?

What would the plugin author of User Managed Locations add-on for Store Locator Plus need to know to get this to work with his plugin? Is there documentation for this?

I would roll custom code – or there are probably other plugins that allow selective blocking.
