• Good day,

I hope anybody can point me in the right direction. I want to stop the creation of the ‘-scaled’ images and use the correct image link (without the ‘-scaled’) on my site. I used this plugin to disable the creation of the “-scaled” images https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/disable-big-image-threshold/ but it obviously only works with newly upload images.

How can I fix previously uploaded images and image links in my site? I manually deleted all images with “-scaled” in the name and I then tried using thumbnail regeneration plugins to regenerate all images but it gives me errors that they can’t regenerate the images because the “-scaled” images could not be found.

Any help will be much appreciated.

  • Try the “Better Search and Replace” plugin to replace all image links that have “-scaled.png” or “-scaled.jpg” with “.png” or “.jpg” in the database.

Be sure to backup up your site before attempting.

Thank you @rodgersnigel your idea worked!

This seems to be the only post on the internet with an answer for how to remove the -scaled.jpg images. The first step to undo the big_image_size_threshold limits.
