Disabled comments… but still getting comments?

Try disabling them via the Discussion Settings page (Settings > Discussion). There’s an option there you can uncheck for allowing people to post comments.

There are two other ways that should work then.

First, when editing a post, there’s a “Discussion” box under the editor where you can turn comments on/off for individual posts (screenshot). If you do not see this option, click on the “Screen Options” tab in the very top-right of the page, and check off the Discussion box.

Second, since you’re looking to disable comments everywhere, you may want to check out the Disable Comments plugin. This will let you quickly turn them off across all posts and/or pages.
