Disabling comments on media page

You can try using a plugin like this one:

Otherwise, you can also edit the commenting ability per individual page. Go to the page via wp-admin editor and on the bottom there should be an option to disable comments, right below the Visual Editor

Yes, I do know about commenting on particular pages, but this is an edit media page, which contains no such option. That’s the problem.

Have you tried the plugin? It has an option to disable commenting on media

I haven’t. But I will now that I know it can control commenting on a media page as well. Thanks!

My designer tried to install the plug-in, but it’s only compatible with WP 3.5 or higher and we’re using an older version. Is there a workaround?

You should encourage your designer to upgrade as soon as possible as WordPress’s updates based on security features, among others, that are crucial for your site
