Disabling “enable product archives”

Hi there!

I have a question pertaining to the “enable product archives” toggle for product attributes. I was able to find an older post about disabling it but they had no discussion of what the negative repercussions would be if you already had terms linked to that product attribute. Currently I am getting quite a lot of errors on SEMrush due to missing meta data on our hundreds of colour variations.

I want to know what the best approach would be from an SEO standpoint. Do I keep these terms and go through the process of setting them up with meta data? I am assuming this would lead to thin content and wouldn’t be optimal. The other option is to disable the archives toggle but I know that would lead to 404’s for the existing links. Is there any other alternative approaches? What would be the best way to approach these terms and their link deletion if disabling archives was the best approach?
