Disabling Jetpack ‘Speed up Image Load Times’ Breaks all Media Library Images

  • I’ve been trying to hunt down an issue with images on my site randomly getting broken then magically fixing themselves. Someone suggested trying to disable Jetpack. Disabling only the “Speed Up Image Load Times’ toggle in the Jetpack settings causes all images in my Media Library to get lost.

    The entries are still in the Library, however, there is only a broken thumbnail, no image when I go to see or edit an entry, and a 404 not found error when I try to load the image with the permalink. Toggling this Jetpack feature restores the Library and all images in it (well those that were loading to begin with anyway).

    I’ve tried Advanced Database Cleaner with no luck.

    How do I fix my Media Library after disabling this Jetpack feature?
