disabling link to event on calendar-full.php

    Hi.
    I am trying to remove link to event from calendar-full.php.
    When I remove <a href="<?php echo esc_url($cell_data['link']); ?>">
    and leave just part to see event, I still have link active.
    I am working in theme plugins folder to override design, and got all I need working except of this.
    Can you give me idea where to look?
    I just need event title to be visible in calendar, without link.

    you can use placeholder #_EVENTNAME instead under Events > Settings > Formatting > Calendar > Event format
