    Hi guys,

    This might be a dumb question, but is there a way to disable the pop-up from continuing to pop-up after a user has signed up to the newsletter? Perhaps it needs to be configured by hiding the pop-up from IP addresses that have successfully signed up. As of now, after someone has signed up and gets prompted the success message, they will continue to have the pop-up occurring as they navigate the website. This is a nuisance for users.

    Do you understand what I mean? Is there a default built-in setting?

    Thanks,

    Alex

  • Hello @alex-h-1

    Hope you’re doing well!

    I’m afraid there isn’t currently a way to disable the pop-up after a user has signed up for the newsletter.

    A workaround here is to enable Close button that saves cookies in the user’s browsers and the opt-in will not load until the cookies are expired.

    In additional settings, please enable two options:
    – Add ‘Never see this message again’ link
    – Close button acts as ‘Never see this message again’ link

    You can set the cookies to expire in 356 days.

    Have a nice day and take care!

    Kind regards,

    Hi there,

    What does the “Add ‘Never see this message again’ link” do that is different then “Close button acts as ‘Never see this message again’ link”?

    Or do both serve the same function?

    Also, why do you suggest 365 days? Wouldn’t this then remove the signup forms and prevent un-subscribed visitors who may have accidentally closed the box?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hey @alex-h-1,

    Hope you’re well!

    For your first question, we can say that both options serve same functionality but with different buttons. When you choose “Add ‘Never see this message again’ link” option it adds new button under the popup and when you click that button you will not see the popup again until cookies expire;

    On the other hand, when you activate the “Close button acts as ‘Never see this message again’ link” option, it doesn’t add anything new but when you click that little close button it acts like ‘Never see this message again’ button and prevents popup for next time, until cookies expire;

    About the “Expires” date, there is no suggestion, Nastia just says any number you can use. If someone accidentally hit the ‘Never see this message again’ button, then he/she can’t see the popup again until expire, or until clearing cookies from a browser, or until trying in private mode browser.

    I hope that helps!

    Cheers,

    Hi Oguz,

    Great. Thanks for clarifying. I will improvise and use one of your suggestions.

    For future releases, you guys should try and rig up a way so it does not show the pop-up for already subscribed IP addresses.

    Thanks,

    Alex
