Disabling wp-cron

is it safe to just disable wp-cron and not creating a new cron job?? My woocommerce website is running really slow and maximizing the CPU seconds. Disabling the cron speeds up the website to 99% via gtmetrix and running auto cron hourly reduces the speed to 35%.
