Some of our AMP pages are getting a “Disallowed attribute or attribute value present in HTML tag.” error in Google Console. Digging into this deeper I see from https://validator.ampproject.org/ that the error more specifically is “The attribute ‘href’ may not appear in tag ‘meta name= and content=’.” and that is citing the <meta itemprop=”URL” href=”https://mycompany.com/orginal-page/”> within the page’s code.

How can I fix or change that?

Anything on this? I keep getting AMP errors in Google Console for the <meta itemprop=”URL” href=” …> code that is inserted.

We didn’t find any issue on your page. That is a valid AMP page. Are you still facing this issue? If you still facing this issue, then you please share a screenshot of what error Google is reporting? So we can analyze it and help you to fix this issue?

The issue keeps popping up on other pages, even when I inspect the live URL. The most recent is here:

Same issue about the href, and it also says:

Not a valid AMP page
Invalid AMP pages will not have AMP-specific features in Google search results

Which is concerning.

That is a rich snippet added via the Schema – All In One Schema Rich Snippets plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/all-in-one-schemaorg-rich-snippets/). But it is not on the pages where we’re getting errors, that I’ve found so far.

We checked your issue. The error is coming because of href is appears in a meta tag.

Thanks, removing that plugin solved it and the pages are on their way to being re-indexed.
