• Hello everyone!

I am new at this. I was really making a great deal of progress with the Evolve theme when suddenly after visiting the Theme Options page and making minor changes to the speed of the revolving images, everything but the text and my menu buttons disappeared.

Can you advise me? Even starting over where I can write around the default code to customize would be helpful. None of the default code is present and none of it displays on my homepage.

    Can I uninstall and reinstall?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Sorry to hear about this, but I have no idea what happened to your site.
It’s not possible to loose your theme option settings after you have saved them.

Un-install and re-installing the theme will not bring back your lost settings. You can restore everything back to default setting using the Theme Options -> Options Reset Button on the bottom left corner.

Caution The Options Reset button will wipe out every Theme Settings and revert them back to default setting, so do this only if you are sure you want to do it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Denzel,

OK, I did restore back to default settings and that brought back all the default pics and code I was working around. My footer was lost and, of course, anything that was associated with the sliders and content boxes, which were already gone anyway.

This was the best solution. I do not know what happened, but my question is: How do I prevent this from happening again?

Is it the Evolve backup for settings and customized code +
WordPress backup tool for content: pages and posts?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

In WordPress admin -> Appearance -> evolve Backup
You can export the Theme Options into a file and keep as backup.

As for the posts, you can use WordPress admin -> Tools -> Export

    Thanks!
