    Hi,

After the last update, the Yoast panel at the bottom of the articles with the Focus keyphrase, Google Preview (mobile and desktop), no longer works, only the bar with the tabs appears. I therefore ask whether and how to revert to the previous version without affecting the existing settings/functions.

    Thanks.

    Hi @divano

We understand that the Yoast SEO meta box isn’t functioning properly anymore. The link to the image you’ve shared doesn’t seem to be loading, but it sounds like what you’re experiencing is a blank Yoast SEO meta box.

blank meta box issue occurs due to a JavaScript conflict. We’d like you to perform a conflict check to help us determine the next steps while saving you time.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

We hope this helps point you in the right direction in resolving this.

    Thanks so much.

Problem is theme, great for many years but since last 1/2 in bad, very hands. I can’t change it now, required a work too hard or heavy outlay for the time being, so, I would like to know if overwriting the current version of Yoast with the penultimate one — from a backup and by FTP (FileZilla) — is feasible without losing its settings/functions and if it can solve the problem.

    Thanks again

I see you found the theme which is causing the blank Yoast metabox. Perhaps, you can check if you need to update the theme or inform theme support for further assistance.

Please be informed that we do not provide support for older versions of our plugins. Also, we do not recommend using outdated versions of WordPress, including (our own) plugins and themes, for the reasons covered in?this article. Therefore, we’d recommend updating to the latest versions.

Your settings are automatically saved during the update process. Before making important changes on your website, like updating WordPress or your plugins, it is always a good practice to create backups.
