disappearing code for audio files

  • I am trying to embed an audio file in a standalone wordpress site.

    I’ve tried simply inserting the file, and now am trying to link to it with the 1 pixel out audio player. The same thing is happening in both.

    I insert the code [audio:test.mp3] into the post, and when I click on “view” from the back end, I get the audio controls and the audio plays.
    This is the url:https://musicfortrains.com/index.php/archive/sounds/

    But when I navigate to the post from the front end there’s no audio player, and when I look at code view there is no code.
    That url is https://musicfortrains.com/index.php/archive/category/sounds/

    So somewhere the code is dropped.

    The browser is Firefox for mac v. 2.0.0.14, I’m getting the same results with Safari.

    Why is this happening?
