    Hello,

    I was using this plugin for some time without problems. Now and for unknown reason it removes all comments from all posts of my site when using the editing function. Checking my WP database it sets the post id of all(!) comments in comments table to 0. So all connections between comments and posts were lost. After restoring it partly and a test it happened again when editing a comment using the plugin function. A really nasty problem and I had to disable the plugin for now. But I’m interested to solve it because I really liked this editing feature for my visitors.

    Kind regards,
    Tom

  • The exact same thing just happened to me. I had been using the plugin for years happily. I just edited a comment on my site and every single comment was reset with an id of 0. Meaning no comments appeared on any post, and all connections were lost.

    I really hope this is fixed, because this is a very dangerous problem.

    Can you please share what other plugins are installed? SCE only edits only the comment that is to be edited and does not affect other comments. I would like to get steps to duplicate as I can’t duplicate the problem locally or on my live sites.

    Thanks that you get back to this problem. Here the plugins I use together with SCE. I mark what was new in my list and might conflict rather than the others, since I had your plugin working without problems before. Maybe adshap8’s list helps to find the conflicting one.

    Activity Log, bbPress, bbPress Enable TinyMCE Visual Tab, Classic Editor, Custom Post Type UI, Custom Sidebars, Disable Toolbar, Download Monitor, Easy FancyBox, GD bbPress Attachments, Image Upload for BBPress, Keep Emoticons as Text, Multi-column Tag Map, Polylang, Post Tags and Categories for Pages, Post Type Switcher, Simple Redirect, Simple Restrict, Statify, TablePress, Tako Movable Comments, Theme My Login, TinyMCE Advanced, User Role Editor, WP Super Cache

    Looking at my list, the Tako Movable Comments plugin sounds kinda critical but I’m not very keen on testing it on my running site now. ??

    I can confirm that it’s Tako Movable Comments that is causing the issue. It only affects logged in users. I’ll see if there’s anything I can do to fix it on my end.

    @adshap8,

    Are you running Tako Movable Comments as well?

    I removed the Movable Comments and yes, SCE works again without problems. Good to see this feature back on my site. Since I don’t really need the Tako plugin, it’s solved for me. Thanks again for looking into it!

    Sorry for the late reply, and thanks so much Ronald for getting back to me (us).

    Yes, I also have Tako Movable Comments installed. So that sounds like it may be what is causing the problem.

    Marking as resolved. The solution is to remove the out-dated and no longer maintained Tako Movable Comments.
