Disappearing Emoji – Replaced with Question Mark

Though the idea behind the plugin is good, it has a flaw that needs attention. I create backups of the website. However, i realized that the emojis disappear whenever i try to restore from backup. Looks like the reference url for the emojis are stripped away when i backup my website. Would like to see a solution to this issue.
