• Hey everyone,

    My sidebar has completely disappeared, and I didn’t even post anything today, or upload any plugins. My site is
    https://www.theurbangrindblog.com.

    The only thing I did do was add a new link category and then added a web site to my links which I assigned to that category. So if anyone knows what I might be doing wrong, please let me know.

    Thanks!
    Lisa

  • Weird I can see your sidebar perfectly fine.

    Usually it happens only in IE, but not in FF.
    If the link (or the link category) you have added is too “long” for IE – that might be the cause.

    Thanks! I’m glad to hear that other people can see it just fine.

    Just to make it clear: I see it “fine” if I use FireFox. If I browse with Internet Explorer – the sidebar is down.

    Hi lisar915,
    Does it still happen if you make the sidebar’s left margin smaller?
    (And yes, I am getting this in IE6 but not Firefox 1.5)

    It is not my site – so I don’t have to make any margin smaller ??

    OMG… I am so terribly sorry for using the wrong nick. I must have just looked very quickly at the last post rather than the post’s author.

    Ok, not to sound like a total klutz but how do you make your sidebar’s left margin smaller?

    Thanks again,
    Lisa

    Open your stylesheet and look for
    #sidebar
    {
    padding: 20px 0 10px 0;
    margin-left: 545px;
    width: 190px;
    }

    Try altering the margin-left value by 10-20px.
    Let me know if it helps.
    Cheers,iso

    Lisa, I see it – looks like it didn’t disappear, it is at the bottom, below all of the posts. Sorry I didn’t catch that … I just recently posted a query because this happened to me to, this morning. Why fiddle with the column width, I’d rather get to the root of the problem so it’s understand and won’t happen again.
