• Hi guys. Have a bit of a problem: the users I’m setting up are disappearing within a few days. It has happened to both admins and customers (using Woocommerce).

I set up the account, activate it, get the automated WordPress email, login with that information but change the password, logout. Then if I try logging in with those credentials a few days later, I get shut out. It’s like they were never there. The person isn’t even listed.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

I don’t have Cpanel (I’m on GoDaddy Managed WordPress), so I’d have to ask them to do it.

I have 4 sites total, and 2 of them have restricted membership. I went and checked those 2 and noticed something interesting.

Lifechoice.net is the one with disappearing users.

When we set up the other one, doctorschoice.ca, we set up our customers under the customer role. Looking at it now, though, it looks like the ones who went in and filled additional info are listed as subscribers instead (default for new customers is customer role). None of these are activated, either. I went in and manually changed them all to customers, but I’m wondering if I activated them if they might disappear, too.

I’d do a backup first, with a plugin like UpdraftPlus Backup. Then try it. If they disappear, just restore. (You can probably get by with just restoring the database. It’ll give you the choice to do so.)

My GoDaddy person suspects it could be a plugin. I had WP-Members installed, so I’m going to try disabling that and see what happens. I already have Anyone Can Register unchecked in the main settings, so it could have just been too redundant.

I am unable to sign in the WP-Admin page It says no register user with that email. How do I resolve this problem? I am using the same email that I received info to update to my site!

ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.

Well, you’ll have to have the GoDaddy folks go into your database, in the “users” table. That’s where your users are stored. Then, they can tell you what user ID’s are available. Did you install a plugin to be able to use e-mails vs. userID’s to log in? If so, is that plugin still active, etc.?
