• I had high hopes for this plugin, but it fell short in crucial areas. It does not support resizing of WebP and AVIF images, which are becoming increasingly common. This is a significant limitation in today’s web environment.

To make matters worse, there’s an issue with the wrong orientation when images are resized using this plugin. I can see that someone has reached out to the developers about this, but they refused to fix it. Such a lack of responsiveness and unwillingness to address critical issues is unacceptable.

Until these problems are resolved, I cannot recommend this plugin to anyone looking for a reliable image resizing tool. I’d stay away from this plugin!

    Hello there,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we understand your disappointment, we would like to address the points you raised to provide clarity:

    1. Support for WebP and AVIF
We appreciate that WebP and AVIF are increasingly common, but the plugin has never advertised support for resizing these formats. Writing a negative review based on the absence of a feature we never claimed to support seems unfair. We would have appreciated it if you had submitted a feature request instead, as we are always open to considering new ideas to improve the plugin.
    2. Wrong Orientation Issue
We take all issues seriously and would like to clarify that we have never refused to fix the orientation issue. Based on a thread from several months ago, we explained the technical limitation: some devices write orientation information in the EXIF metadata. When EXIF data is removed, this information is lost. We even explored the possibility of using alternative methods (such as the exiftran tool) to resolve the issue, but there were significant challenges in implementing such a solution without causing unintended side effects.
    3. Communication and Support
We strive to provide timely and helpful support. However, we could not address your concerns because you did not reach out to us before leaving this review. We always encourage users to contact us through the support forums with any issues or feature requests. We aim to respond quickly and work closely with users to resolve their concerns.
    4. Contributing to the Plugin
As a free plugin, we welcome contributions from the community. If you feel strongly about adding features or fixing limitations, you’re more than welcome to contribute directly to the plugin on GitHub: https://github.com/short-pixel-optimizer/resize-image-after-upload.

Finally, we want to emphasize that our team is dedicated to improving this plugin and supporting its users. We hope you’ll consider reaching out to us directly in the future so we can work together to address your concerns and hopefully edit your review ??

    Best regards,
