• I’ve been using BackWPup for a long time, and until now, it has been a dependable and user-friendly backup tool. Unfortunately, the latest update is a huge letdown.

The new interface feels like a major downgrade. The previous version was well-structured, intuitive, and made it easy to access job settings and configurations. Now, everything seems unnecessarily complex and harder to navigate.

Why change something that was already working so well? This redesign has made managing backup jobs frustrating and inefficient. Please revert to the previous UI and restore the clear, organized layout that made the plugin so effective.

It’s disappointing to see such a great backup plugin take this turn. I would never pay for the PRO version of this update—but I would gladly pay to get the old version back.

For now, I’ll have to explore alternatives or hope that an upcoming update resolves these issues.

  • Then why do you give 5 stars?

but I would gladly pay to get the old version back.

@ericasm You can get the old version 4.1.7 in Advanced View of plugin description at bottom of page at Previous Versions: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/backwpup/advanced/

@svweb I think the stars default to 5 if not selected but they also can be edited later.

I concur. They absolutely ruined it. I won’t be using it anymore.

    Hi @ericasm,

We are very sorry for the frustration caused by the recent update. We truly value your input, especially as a long-time user of BackWPup. It means a lot to us to hear from those who have relied on our plugin over the years.

We understand how important a smooth and intuitive interface is, and we regret that the changes have made managing your backup jobs more difficult.

Our goal has always been to provide a reliable and efficient backup solution. We acknowledge that changes in this new release have impacted usability, and we’re actively working to address these concerns.

In the meantime, as @ov3rfly kindly suggested, you can roll back to version 4.1.7 while we continue to make improvements. You can download this version here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/backwpup/advanced/.

We hope this helps restore the workflow you’re accustomed to while we continue refining the new version.

We’re grateful for your patience and understanding as we work to improve. Rest assured, we’re committed to making BackWPup a tool you can rely on once again.

    The BackWPup Team
