I had a warning on my site that jetpack wasnt working. The site was running weirdly/502 bad gatewaying. I followed the warning sign in word press which led me to disconnect Jetpack, this subsequently removed my site from my wordpress account and I can’t get it back at all.

This post sums up what has happened although written by someone else: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/how-do-i-reconnect-my-site-to-wordpress/

I would like my site to be returned as it was. I am concerned disconnecting a plugin has removed my site completely.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

  • Hello @beniamhere ,

    I am glad to help!

I checked your site and it is returning a server error:

    Proxy Error
The proxy server could not handle the request
Reason: Error during SSL Handshake with remote server
Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I recommend you to contact your hosting support for further assistance with this error.

Regarding your original request, could you please reconnect Jetpack?

You can follow these instructions to do that:

    1. Check if your have Jetpack installed on your site, reaching your Plugins list. If not, please install the plugin. You can follow this link to know how to install Jetpack: https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/
    2. Click **Set Up Jetpack** button to connect your site to WordPress.com again.

This handy guide explains the full process in more detail:

    My best regards,

    Michelle

    Hi Michelle,

Thank you for getting back to me so promptly.

I have contacted my host as you have suggested and they are looking into it.

Regarding having jetpack installed on my site, I cant tell because the site is no longer there for me to select. Maybe I am just not understand the process but I cant access plugins without having the site connected to my wordpress. I only have an old wordpress blog on there which will not allow me to download jetpack.

    Thanks,

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

I rechecked your site, and Jetpack is currently connected with your site (no connection issue found), plus the WP Admin login area is also loading perfectly. It looks like your host has resolved the issue. Could you please check and confirm?
