    Hello.
This is an issue related with ticket #578 opened 6 months early.
I’m trying to apply a discount but I want to exclude the products from certain categories.
It works fine if the category has only simple products. But if the category has variable products, then they aren’t excluded from the discount.

Do you know about this issue?
Is there a way to avoid this behavior filtering by metas?

You can watch the settings in this picture: https://prnt.sc/g3jfzp

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Yes that feature has been improved in the pro version, not the free one.

    Hi orion!

    Thanks for your reply!
Is there anyway to do that in the free version, even if is more difficult? Maybe using some meta_key to indicate what categories must exclude…

    Thanks in advance!

No sorry. The thing is woocommerce does not include the variations of variable products when you fetch all products within a category for example. It only fetches the main products (variable or simple or others) but not the variations. That’s why we had to develop a way to include them into the lists automatically.
