    I am currently using the Chauffeur Booking System paid plugin for my taxi website. However, I noticed that the plugin does not support giving discounts on return rides. Is there any way I can use WooCommerce to apply a discount on return rides, as I am using WooCommerce for my payment method and checkout process? Please check the booking form on my website below for reference. If custom coding is required to achieve this functionality, could you please point me in the right direction or provide any guidance on how to implement this?

    Since woocommerce also provides coupon I just need to know if it will work on this booking form then I can do some custom coding using hooks?

    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Hi @scotlandtravel

    Thank you for reaching out — we’re happy to help!

    As I understand, the goal is the following one, here:

    giving discounts on return rides

    Another way to approach this would be by adding a discount code in the Order confirmation email. How about that for your use case?

    For reference:

    If you are needing help with customizations or troubleshooting WooCommerce and do not have a developer or company you can depend on, then we’ve got recommendations for you.

    Visit https://woocommerce.com/customizations/ to find the right agency or developer for your specific needs.

    I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know.

    Hello scotlandtravel

    Thank you for your reply.

    My colleague means that you can create a coupon for a discount and then add it to the Order confirmation email. This way you can share discount coupon codes with customers who have already made a purchase.

    Please let me know if you need further assistance. ??

    Best regards.

    @doublezed2 Hello, I’m concerned that the current setup won’t meet my needs. I want to prominently display a discount code on a banner, allowing users to enter it. The discount should apply only when booking a return ride, or ideally, should be automatically applied if the user selects a return ride. I’m using the Chauffeur Booking System plugin, but its built-in coupon function lacks the ability to enforce these restrictions. Could you explain how integrating WooCommerce might address this? I’m quite confused about how to proceed.

    Hi @scotlandtravel,

    I want to prominently display a discount code on a banner

    To display the discount code prominently, you can use a WooCommerce compatible banner plugin or widget to create and display a banner with the discount code on your site.

    The discount should apply only when booking a return ride, or ideally, should be automatically applied if the user selects a return ride.

    In order to automatically apply the discount when a return ride is selected, you might need to use an additional plugin like Smart Coupons. This plugin allows you to set up rules that automatically apply a discount when certain conditions are met, extending the core functionality of WooCommerce coupons.

    @ckadenge Hi, I’m concerned about whether it will be compatible with the plugin I’m using for generating bookings. At the final step, it integrates with WooCommerce for checkout. Please verify the booking form for compatibility.

    Please refer to this screenshot and understand that coupon discount option is coming from booking form which is generated by a paid plugin im using. https://i.imgur.com/gwJ7jt2.png

    Hi again @scotlandtravel,

    I understand your concern about compatibility issues with?Smart Coupons.

    Just for clarity, Smart Coupons is a premium extension that offers a 30-day money-back guarantee which means, if it’s not compatible with your current setup, you can get a full refund for the amount. You can learn more from our refund policy.

    The best way to be able to rule out compatibility issues, is having the plugin installed and manually tested, you can do that on a staging site.

    Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Okay even with that, I don’t see any option to restrict it to return new ride? @ckadenge

    Also they provide free demo we can test it there but again not until we know how to restrict it to return new ride

    Well, if you’re just going to refer me to a paid plugin and no more support can be provided here. I don’t know what to say, because I’m not rich enough to test out plugins and so on.

    Hello ??@scotlandtravel,

    I understand your concerns about purchasing plugins without knowing if they’re the right fit for your needs.

    if you’re just going to refer me to a paid plugin and no more support can be provided here.

    For reference, this particular forum is meant for general support with the core functionality of WooCommerce itself. As for the premium plugin, we provide support via our internal ticketing systems, where our Happiness Engineers would be able to assist you further.

    I don’t know what to say, because I’m not rich enough to test out plugins and so on.

    Remember, our premium extensions have a 30-day money-back guarantee where you get a full refund should the product not meet your needs.

    Well, I’m not inclined towards using that plugin, can you just verify if the current woocommerce coupon works on my plugin and booking form, that’d be enough for me.

    Hi again, @scotlandtravel! I just replied on another thread of yours earlier so I’m familiar with the booking system you’re using.

    From what I understand of this plugin it’s not working with WooCommerce products per se, but a dynamic form to book a ride, so I’m not sure the coupons would be able to meet your needs as, again, this is very different to what the default WooCommerce experience is.

    To be more precise, this plugin only integrates with WooCommerce for login, registration, order processing, and payment gateway support, but it’s not even necessary to use WooCommerce with this plugin.

    However, looking at the plugin page I see they have some degree of customization, including pricing rules. That may be of help for you as it’d resemble the goal you’re trying to achieve here. I’d suggest looking into their documentation for more details, and reaching out to their support team if necessary.

    I wish I could do more, but I hope this leads you in the right direction.

    Hi @omarfpg

    I have found a workaround for a previous issue and need your assistance to enhance its functionality. When a booking is made through my other plugin, it redirects the user to the cart page, where the product details, including the transfer type, are displayed.

    I would like to apply a discount based on the transfer type displayed in the cart. Specifically, if the transfer type is “Return New Ride,” I want to ensure that any WooCommerce discount coupon is applicable.

    Could you please provide any insight on how to achieve this? Here’s what I’m aiming for in code terms:

    if (transfer_type == ‘return_new_ride’) {
    // Apply WooCommerce coupon code
    }

    Also if possible I don’t know which line of should I copy from inspect element, if you can just help me find its class on cart page, I can do the rest of coding and also if you can helpme understand how can I hook it with woocommerce’s discount codes.
