It seems that it’s not possible to have discount rules and Woocommerce coupons working together as expected.

When created some product specific discount rules, for example “Buy more, pay less” discount rule which match to specific products.

Otherwise there’s discount coupons created with Woocommerce coupons . For example percentage discount.

The goal is that a coupon discount shouldn’t apply to the products which match to some active discount rule. But a coupon should apply to the cart products which do not match to any active discount rules.

An example about cart content and specific coupon code 20% discount applied:

3 x T-shirt (Buy 3 or more discount rule match so then 20% coupon won’t apply) 25€ each
    1 x Bag (No matching discount rule so 20% coupon code apply) 40€ – 20% discount = 32€

How to achieve that kind of scenario?

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. This is Sangeetha from the Customer Support Team.

Are you looking to either stop coupons from being used when there’s already a discount, or the other way around? You can configure this by following these steps:

Go to WooCommerce -> Woo Discount Rules -> Settings
There are three options to pick from: https://nimb.ws/XgmwBs

For a more detailed walkthrough, you can refer to this guide:

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for your response. I am aware of the setting you mentioned about. It was set to Disable the coupons (discount rules will work) option. But the problem is that if there are multiple products on cart and if even one of them match to discount rule, then the coupon won’t apply to any other products either.

So I think the setting should be line item specific, not whole cart specific. Right?

    Hello,

    We appreciate your response.

Regrettably, the setting to disable coupons applies globally to the entire cart. Therefore, it’s not feasible to apply a WooCommerce coupon solely to the remaining products in the cart that don’t have any active discounts from our plugin.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns. We’re here to help.

Okay, thanks for your response. Are you planning to implement a line item specific setting as I described above? I think it shouldn’t be very difficult to implement ??

    Hello,
