Discunt Coupons Preventing Paypal Checkout

  • Hello All,

    I’ve encountered a problem during checkout using Paypal Express Checkout and cart discount coupons.

    In short, whenever I apply % discount coupons to my cart, I receive the following error from Paypal:

    SetExpressCheckout API call failed.

    Error Code: 10413
    Error Severity Code: Error
    Short Error Message: Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details.
    Detailed Error Message: The totals of the cart item amounts do not match order amounts.

    I’m guessing this is due to some sort of rounding issue on one side or the other – that is, that either Woocommerce is rounding the discounted cart value and Paypal is not expecting rounding, or vice versa.

    To reproduce:

    1) browse to https://www.firstdistrictcoffee.com/shop/
    2) click Add to Cart under the first item shown (“Colombia”)
    3) on the cart page, apply the following coupon code: “localsonly”
    4) click Checkout With Paypal at the bottom of the screen

    A generic error is shown at the top of the page, but Paypal is emailing the specifics shown above.

    I’m running:

    WordPress: 4.2.2
    Woocommerce: 2.3.1.3
    Paypal for Woocommerce: 1.1.6.3.4

    Any tips/suggestions would be most welcome, as this has eliminated my ability to run promos.

    Also worth noting is that, if when following the steps to reproduce that I listed above, if in step 2 you add “Sumatra” (top row, third from the left) to the cart instead of “Colombia” and then apply the coupon and attempt checkout, you get no error. This is very likely due to the fact that “Sumatra” is priced at $14.00 even, whereas “Colombia” is priced at $14.25. This lends further credence to my rounding theory.

    Open to all suggestions on this – hackish or otherwise ??
