• The Gutenberg editor misses essential features like producing “indents”, for which one should use the classic editor block.

The block structure makes it impossible to insert own html snippets into an article.
Ones own html snippets might get rewritten or result into display problems in the wysiwyg editor mode.

It is not possible to leave the block structure to move around aspects like pictures.

I would prefer the TinyMCE editor, yet sadly this one has been deactivated.
The classic editor killed off every line-break and paragraph in a ~3.4k words article of mine. The support team refuses so far to even address the issue.

  • Just trying to help:

The Gutenberg editor misses essential features like producing “indents”, for which one should use the classic editor block.

The feature exists on several blocks (lists for example), for indenting text I suggest trying a layout (two columns, adjust width, left column left blank, right column paragraph) or the easy way, install https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/block-options/.

Ones own html snippets might get rewritten or result into display problems in the wysiwyg editor mode.

Depending on the content of the snippet yes, that might be a problem. What does that snippet of yours?

It is not possible to leave the block structure to move around aspects like pictures.

You mean like wrap text around an image? that is possible – you have a character style for inline images, or if you want blocks to do that add an image block, align it to the left, paragraph block automatically shows to the right. Unless I’m missing something…

    Anyway, hope it helps.
