• Hi,

Thank you very much for this wonderful extension.

WebP is very nice, but for some images the webp file is bigger than the jpg file.

Is there an automatic way to get rid of unused webp files?

    Sincerely,

The webp files will only be larger if you used “Force WebP” mode. But WebP conversion will almost always increase your disk space usage, because you now have 2 files for every image (WebP and the original JPG/PNG/GIF). That is unless you use something like our Easy IO service, which stores all the WebP copies on our servers instead.

Anyway, yes there is a way to clean up all the WebP images. Look under Tools->EWWW Image Optimizer and you’ll find a WebP Cleanup option.

    Hi,

“Force WebP” mode have not been used.

After re-optimizing webp images with the new version of EWWW IO (5.8.0) it seems that webp images are smaller than the jpgs.

    Thanks,
