I have had to delete the plug in – it was a total nightmare – alterations weren’t appearing, I couldn’t disable it (even when checking ‘never’ and, as you already know users couldn’t hide it so once it was triggered they coulodn’t access the site.

I appreciate that this is just me as you have thousands of installs.

I would have liked to look into the problems you where having, who knows, maybe there would have been an easy way to fix it.

As for alterations not showing: do you use any caching or minify plugin like total cache? Or does your theme have a caching function? In that case you would obviously have to empty the cache before changes appear.
