    Hello,

    since I’m working on an italian website and in Italy it’s still possible to get the consent by simply scrolling the page (since the Italian Data Protection Authority hasn’t updated its guidelines yet) I’d like to know if and how can I use the “dismiss on scroll” feature.
    As a test I tried to force the “complianz.dismiss_on_scroll” to “true” by altering cookieconfig.js but that didn’t work.

    Thanks.

    BTW, thanks for the plugin too, it really cuts down the time to setup cookie policy and it’s very simple to use and configure.

    Hi @techedge83,

    Our lawyer had a look at it and said the following;

    Scrolling as consent is not compatible with GDPR guidelines.

    A 2014 manual from the Italian DPA is thereby overruled by the GDPR, with an explicit case (olanet49) last October. Below text might shed some more light when GDPR can overturn existing, Italian guidelines:

    “The decisions and the authorizations issued by the Italian DPA, the Garante per il trattamento dei dati personali, under the regime prior to the GDPR as well as the existing Ethical Codes will remain in place “to ensure continuity“, up until they are updated by the Italian DPA “provided that they are compatible” with the GDPR.”

    This is the reason why it is not implemented. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    regards Aert

    Thanks for your quick reply. Didn’t know about Planet49 ruling, I’ll stick with the actual settings then.
    Keep up your good work!
