Dispaly Non Fetured Images in posts

Ok lest try and explain this so it makes sense
i use a plugin called status allows you to create a post form a url form the front end. when you go to the created post it shows the picture but its not a featured image. Some themes will only display featured images when you call a category other will display the first image they come across
Is there a plugin that will do that so you don’t rely on the theme.
