• Is there an easy way to set-up wordpress so that I can display, say, 10 posts on the main page, but 100 on the archive pages?

I’ve currently set-up my archive pages to show only post titles/links, so that they can easily handle displaying 100 or more posts.

However, My main page shows exerpts and photos, so I don’t want to load more than 10-12 posts at a time.

When I changed the “Reading Options” in the Admin panel to display only 10 posts, it also changed that for my archive pages, which is undesirable.

So for the time being, I’ve bumped that up to 100, but hardcoded the loop to end after 10 posts on the main page.

I’m just wondering if there is a pre-fab solution, or something I am missing, before I go and hand code a solution.

Any help would be appreciated ??

PS – I did look through a bunch of the existing posts that seemed related to this subject, but didn’t seem to find anything really relevant. Please forgive me if this request has already been addressed in another topic, because I must have missed it.
