    @craigcpcb – This is generally caused by a plugin or your current theme also triggering a Lightbox Effect before (or after) NextGEN Gallery triggers its Lightbox Effect.

    You will either need to disable NextGEN Gallery’s Lightbox effect under Gallery > Other Options > Lightbox Effects, or you will need to turn off the functionality from your other plugin(s) or theme.
