    Hi Chris,
    Other than suggestion the Global Maps add-on you will need create a custom code using some filters to make the map load on page load with the taxonomies/post type that you want. There is nothing else “out of the box” that can do that.

    I am not sure exactly what you mean by:

    The Global Maps add-on seems to filter by post type (in the overlay) but I only display one post type with locations so i dont need this.

    With the global maps add-on you can choose which Post Type to display. It can be a single post type or multiple.
    You can also choose to exclude taxonomies per post type or you can exclude certain terms by ID per taxonomies.
    You can also choose which post type to include in the post types filter ( the overlay ) in the front-end.
    So basically you can build a global map displaying a single post type. You can exclude the front end overlay and you can exclude taxonomies or terms ID from the taxonomies belong to the post type that you chose.
